WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business has received a grant from the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation to support a project on economic freedom.

During the spring 2011 semester, the $6,000 grant will be used to bring a guest speaker to campus and to fund a student book club.

“The generous grant provided by the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation will enable WKU to bring a dynamic speaker to campus to help students understand the importance of economic freedom,” said Dr. Brian Strow, associate professor of economics and BB&T Professor for the Study of Capitalism.

Dr. Strow also will lead 13 students in a book club that focuses on the work of F.A. Hayek. Over weekly dinners, students will discuss the following works: The Road to Serfdom, The Fatal Conceit and Individualism and Economic Order.
